COMDA is proud to be a family-oriented business, one which has served our community in a variety of ways for over 50 years. As part of our connection to the community at large, we have dedicated our support to a variety of causes, events, and charitable organizations, all of which are aimed at improving the lives of community members near and far. In conjunction with our vendor partners, COMDA staff work tirelessly each year to drive fundraising initiatives and spread awareness for several causes. We truly believe that people are at the heart of good communities and we are proud to donate both our time and resources in support of initiatives that matter to us. 2025 Season of Giving

This year for the season of giving we are raising money for a local charity through our annual 50/50 draw and the Daily Bread Food Bank though our warehouse sale.

2025 Initiatives In-Depth

COMDA and the Ontario SPCA: A Partnership for Animals

COMDA and the Ontario SPCA have been long-time charitable partners, contributing funds over the years to help cover the essential costs of animal care, including food, blankets, and other necessities for animals in the community.

Paws & Putts Charity Golf Tournament

On September 23, 2025, we were proud to participate in the Ontario SPCA’s second annual Paws & Putts Charity Golf Tournament! This successful, full-day event featured 72 dedicated golfers enjoying 18 holes in a shotgun-style tournament, followed by a catered lunch and raffle.

Thanks to the incredible energy of all the players, the tournament raised over $45,000 to help animals in need.

Ongoing Fundraising Commitment

Our commitment to the Ontario SPCA is demonstrated through consistent fundraising efforts, which increase each year:

In 2024, our participation in the Paws and Putts Charity Golf Classic contributed to raising nearly $43,000 for the organization.

In 2023, we made a $1,500 donation to the Sweat for Pets campaign and raised $770 during our Season of Giving.

We hope to continue this spirit of generosity into 2026 and beyond!

The Daily Bread Food Bank was founded in Toronto in 1983 and quickly grew to become one of Canada's largest food banks. They provide food to over 200 food programs across Toronto! To help provide an inventory of non-perishable food items, COMDA's food drives have been a major success! Our previous Easter Food Drive raised a total of 75 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank. As part of our recent Season of Giving initiatives, we raised $838 in 2024 and $820 in 2023 for the Daily Bread Food Bank!

Sea Paws Rescue (SPR) is a small passionate team of animal lovers who are dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned and neglected animals all over the globe. Their goal is to provide the required medical treatment, shelter, love, and care to every animal they rescue to ensure their successful transition from foster placements to their #SPRfurever homes.

Sea Paws Rescue is a local Toronto rescue that works with volunteers and partners in shelters across Canada, as well as abroad, to facilitate adoptions. They also protect these animals from abuse and neglect by educating the community on proper animal care and shedding light on the issue of animal overpopulation with the hope of ultimately reducing pet homelessness.

In July 2023, we sponsored and donated promo products for Sea Paws Rescue’s 3rd Rescuing Lives Anniversary. These promo products promote the vision of the rescue and continue to advertise their mission of animal adoption.

Our sponsorship and donations help with travel & medical expenses. They also help SPR supply the basic necessities for foster families who lovingly take dogs into their home until their furever family is found.
